Online Noorani Qaida Course for Kids and Adults

The book every confident Quran reader starts with, taught one to one by a qualified tutor who won't rush your child, or you, past a letter until it's second nature.

Where Every Confident Reader Starts

Most parents don't realise how much rides on this one small book. Get the letters wrong here, muddle up the harakaat, or rush past a rule that hasn't properly landed, and it follows a child, or an adult learner, into every page of Quran they read afterwards. That's why our online Noorani Qaida course exists as a proper first step, not a box to tick before the "real" lessons start.

Whether your child is four years old and has never seen an Arabic letter, or you're an adult who reverted years ago and never quite got round to starting from scratch, the Qaida is where accurate reading begins. There's no shame in starting here, whatever age the student happens to be.

What Your Child, or You, Will Actually Learn

The Qaida looks simple from the outside, twenty-nine letters and a handful of symbols, but it's doing more work than that. Our tutors build each concept on the last, so nothing is memorised without being understood first.

  • Recognising and writing each Arabic letter in its beginning, middle, and end forms
  • Joining letters correctly to read connected words, not just isolated shapes
  • Harakaat (short vowels), tanween, and sukoon, and how they change a word's sound
  • Basic madd (elongation) rules, introduced gently rather than all at once
  • Correct makharij, where each letter's sound actually comes from in the mouth and throat
  • Simple Quranic words and short verses to practise everything together

How We Structure the Levels

We split the Qaida into three working levels rather than one long, undifferentiated slog. Level one covers individual letters and their shapes. Level two moves into joined words, harakaat, and tanween. Level three brings in madd rules, basic tajweed habits, and short verses, so the move into full Quran reading afterwards doesn't feel like a jump into the deep end.

Some academies fold in short duas and simple manners alongside the reading itself. We do too, in short bursts rather than a separate subject, because a child who can read but doesn't yet know what to say before eating or on waking hasn't really finished the job.

Who This Course Actually Suits

This isn't only for small children starting out. We regularly teach:

  • Children aged four and up who are completely new to the Arabic alphabet
  • UK-born children who speak mostly English at home and need extra reinforcement
  • Adult beginners and reverts who never had the chance to learn as a child
  • Students who started the Qaida elsewhere, lost confidence, and need an honest restart
  • Parents who want to sit in and learn alongside their child, page by page

How the One to One Lessons Work

Every lesson is one to one and live, never a group class where a shy child gets lost in the background. Your tutor is DBS-checked, and girls and women are always matched with a female teacher, never a non-mahram. Lessons run over Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet, in English, Urdu, or Arabic, whichever the family is most comfortable with.

Pricing starts from £30/month for two classes a week, up to £60/month for five, so you can set a pace that suits your budget and your child's stamina rather than a fixed package that doesn't fit either.

Frequently Asked Questions

Usually yes, but not from zero. Your tutor will spend the first lesson quietly checking what's solid and what's guesswork, then start the course at the point where the gaps actually are, not at page one out of habit.
