Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 20 August 2026

1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Mariam Quran Tutor website and our online Quran teaching services. By booking a free trial, subscribing to a plan, or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Mariam Quran Tutor operates from 9 Greenfield Cres, Birmingham B15 3AU, United Kingdom. You can contact us at info@mariamqurantutor.com or +44 7848 496686.

2. Who Can Use Our Services

Our services are intended for use by adults on behalf of themselves or their children. If you are booking lessons for a child, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian, or otherwise have authority to make that booking. You must be at least 18 years old to enter into a paid subscription with us.

3. Our Services

We provide one-to-one online Quran tuition, including Noorani Qaida, Tajweed and Qira’at, Hifz, Tafseer, Quranic Arabic and Translation, Islamic Studies and Salah, and Ijazah certification, delivered by qualified, DBS-checked teachers.

Lessons are conducted online through video conferencing tools at times agreed between the family and the teacher. We aim to match each student with a suitable teacher based on gender preference and learning level, but we cannot guarantee a specific teacher will be available at all times, and where a change is needed we will offer a suitable alternative.

4. Free Trial Class

We offer a free trial lesson with no card details required. The trial is intended to let you assess whether our teaching style and approach suit your family before committing to a paid plan. One free trial is offered per family. We reserve the right to decline or limit trial requests that appear abusive of this offer.

5. Pricing and Payment

Current pricing for our plans is shown on our website and starts from £30 per month. Prices may change from time to time; where they do, we will give existing subscribers reasonable notice before any change takes effect on their plan.

Payments are processed securely through our payment provider. By subscribing, you authorise us to take recurring payments in line with your chosen plan until you cancel. It is your responsibility to ensure your payment details are kept up to date to avoid interruption to lessons.

6. Your Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of first subscribing, without giving a reason, and receive a full refund.

If you ask for lessons to begin during this 14-day period, and you later cancel, you will be charged only for the lessons already delivered up to the point of cancellation, calculated proportionally against the full plan price. This does not affect your right to cancel a free trial at any time, since no payment is taken for it. Full detail is available in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

7. Ongoing Cancellation

Outside the initial 14-day period, you may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us or through your account. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged again after that point. For full detail on how refunds and rescheduled or missed lessons are handled, see our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

8. Scheduling, Rescheduling, and Missed Lessons

Lesson times are arranged directly between the family and the assigned teacher, based on the availability provided at booking. We ask that any changes to a scheduled lesson be communicated with reasonable notice, so the teacher’s time can be used fairly across all students. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows without notice may be treated as a missed lesson under our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

9. Conduct and Behaviour

We expect all students, parents, and guardians to treat teachers with respect, and our teachers are expected to treat every student with the same care and respect. Lessons should take place in a quiet, appropriate environment suitable for learning. We reserve the right to suspend or end access to our services, without refund of the affected period, if a student, parent, or guardian behaves in a way that is abusive, unsafe, or otherwise seriously inappropriate toward a teacher or staff member.

Any safeguarding concern raised by a teacher, parent, or student will be handled in line with our Safeguarding Policy.

10. Intellectual Property

All course materials, worksheets, recordings, and content provided as part of our lessons remain the property of Mariam Quran Tutor or our teachers, and are provided for the personal learning use of the enrolled student only. They may not be copied, redistributed, or used commercially without our written permission.

11. Our Liability

We take care to provide our services to a good standard, in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. However, we do not guarantee any specific rate of progress, as this depends on many factors including the student’s own effort and consistency. We are not liable for issues outside our reasonable control, such as internet connectivity problems on either side, or temporary unavailability of a teacher due to illness or an emergency, though we will always try to offer a suitable alternative in such cases.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law.

12. Changes to Teachers or Services

We may occasionally need to change a student’s assigned teacher, for reasons such as staff availability, scheduling conflicts, or in response to a request from the family. We will always aim to give reasonable notice and offer a suitable replacement teacher matched to the same preferences.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Continued use of our services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law and Complaints

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you have a complaint about our services, please contact us directly at info@mariamqurantutor.com so we can try to resolve it. If we are unable to resolve a dispute directly, you may have the right to pursue it through the UK courts or an approved alternative dispute resolution provider.
